More Review

More by T.M. Franklin

This book sounded so interesting, I was so happy when it lived up to that expectation and brought me in farther than I expected.

Now if you're regularly here, you know I always enjoy a book that makes me feel very deeply, whether I want to or not. This book was full of ups and downs, and will they won't theys.

It was such a great read with all the suspense and tension, however, it did start rather slow, and took a while to start up, but it was well worth the wait, because the whole book made me wanna know what happens next, and not I'm reading the second book, in this trilogy.

(See what I did there?)

Offsetting Penalties Review

Offsetting Penalties by Ally Mathews

Review

I was so excited to read this book because the blurb was so adorable, it sounded like a really cute read. I started to read and I was a little disappointed, it was a slow start! I don't like books like that, I don't have time for them, but because I was so excited by the blurb, I stuck it out.I'm happy I did, it got way better, after the slow part I finished it really quickly.

The chemistry between the characters was so good it felt real (for fictional characters) and a major plus, is I felt all the ups and downs. It made me feel the feels! I enjoy books that do that. A critique more i would say is that there could be more swoon scenes.

Overall, this book was good once you get past the slow start and after that is a quick read.

The Rules of Rebellion Review

The Rules of Rebellion by Amity Hope

1. Skinny dip (her idea)
2. Stargaze (his idea)
3. Prank someone (her idea)
4. Go on a date (his idea)
Leo Zimmerman has had a crush on his curvy friend Kylie Jenkins since forever, so when he discovers the girl with a flair for candy making has a newfound plan to rebel against her overbearing parents, he’s determined to be the one to help her carry it out. Who better than himself to show her the ropes of letting loose?
Sure, taking her to her first high school party, helping her sneak out of the house, or watching a sunset together isn’t exactly a hardship, but much harder is masking his feelings the more time they spend together. And when he suggests adding “a first date” to Kylie’s plan and she accepts…suddenly all his dreams seem to be coming true.
But Leo’s got a secret that could change everything between them, and it’s only a matter of time before it comes to the surface.

First thoughts

I had already read "The Rules of Persuasion" by Amity Hope so I thought I'd read this one. Entangles teen books are always so good and have you hooked right from the start. This one was no different, I was wanting to read from start to finish in one day but, I slowed it down so I could have time to analyze what I was reading. So here's my honest review of this book.

Review

The first thing I liked is that the authour brought in/ incorporated the characters from her other book into this one. I took me a little while to realize that but once I did, I liked it. The other thing I liked was the fact that the emotion felt so real to me. And you know I really appreciate an authour who can create characters who connect to the readers.

The one part I didn't like is there could've been more swoon-worthy scenes and the character could've been described a bit more, but that's just my opinion.

Overall this is a great book to read for all the feels and some swoons. I would recommend this book to someone whos looking for a light read.

Love in the Friendzone Review

Love in the Friendzone by Molly E. Lee

The only thing worse than not being able to tell your best friend you’re head over heels in love with him? Having to smile and nod when he enlists your help to ensnare the girl of his dreams.
Braylen didn’t even want to go to Lennon Pryor’s epic graduation-night party, but when Fynn begs her to be his “wingwoman,” she can’t deny him. Talking up her BFF—how he’s magic behind a camera, with a killer sense of humour and eyelashes that frame the most gorgeous blue eyes in the history of forever—is easy. Supporting his efforts to woo someone so completely wrong for him? Not so much.
Fynn knows that grad night is his last shot before leaving for college to find true love. And thanks to Bray, he gets his chance with the beautiful Katy Evans. But over the course of the coolest party of their high school careers, he starts to see that perhaps what he really wants has been in front of him all along. Bray’s been his best friend since kindergarten, though, and he’d rather have her in his life as a friend than not at all.
Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book contains one epic party, complete with every high-schoolers-gone-bad shenanigan, and two best friends whose sexual chemistry is off the charts...if only they’d succumb to it.

First Thoughts

This book sounded so good I just had to read it! It sounded like such a tragic love story, one-sided love. And when I started reading, I was automatically hooked. Now you know I love books that pull you in so hard, that they make you feel like you're the character, and this is defiantly one of them. So here's my honest review of this book.

Review

This is such an emotional book, from both viewpoints, you could see what Bray thought about something or the way she felt, and then you got to see/understand what Fynn thought or why he did it. Because you get to see both viewpoints it adds another bucket full of emotion, because you can tell what their both feeling and you just want to change it.

The one problem I had was with the character development, their appearances weren't described enough for me to picture them. There were some moments when other characters talked about the hair or eyes of someone else but that was all I got.

Overall this book is so amazing! It has the emotional rollercoaster, the swoon-worthy moments, and the scream-your-head-off-because-they're-doing-the-wrong-thing-moments. I would defiantly recommend this book.

First Thoughts

I was so excited to read this book because I enjoyed the last book so much. When I started this book I was automatically hooked (mostly because I had to finish it in 2 days) It picked up right where it left off, it didn't have you wondering what happened. So here's my honest review of this book.

Review

So first of, you need to know that this book is an emotional roller coaster. Shannon has you laughing, crying, swooning, and trying to fight the reality of something. Now I did have to finish this book in 2 days, so I was quite rushed but I tried to soak up everything I could. And I have to say it was just an all-around great read.

This book did have a couple of slow parts, but what book doesn't? I wouldn't call it a slow book. I was pleasantly surprised, this book surpassed all of my expectations, I love a book that can make you feel everything the characters are feeling. Shannon went above and beyond that, she had me thinking about the sad parts and trying to wrap my head around the whole thing, as I was there experiencing it with the characters.

Overall this book is one I would defiantly recommend, and I would totally read it again. It has all the ups and downs that don't go unnoticed with me and are greatly appreciated.

The Queen B* Stikes Back Review

26833325
The Queen B* Strikes Back by Crista McHugh

Alexis Wyndham isn’t quite sure what to think about her “friendship” with the star quarterback, Brett Pederson.

Sure, he has more intelligence than the entire football team combined. Not to mention that fact he’s a great kisser.

When he asks her to help him with his college admission essays, she isn’t sure if he’s doing it to spend more time with her or if he’s just using her for her brains.

But after her nemesis, Summer Hoyt makes it clear she’s not finished chasing after Brett, Alexis begins to realize how hard she’s fallen for Brett. Now the war is on, and the head cheerleader will find out why she should never take on a Queen B*.

First Thoughts

When I finished reading the first book, I knew I had to read the rest of the series. When you first start reading this book, it instantly grabs your attention. Within the first chapter, there is an awkward part that makes you feel like you're right in the middle of it, it's awesome! So here's my honest review of this book.

Review

So this book as I said grabs your attention from the very beginning, which means it doesn't have a slow start! It starts off with some witty banter on Brett's side aimed at Alexis. All throughout the book, you are screaming at Alexis to just take a chance, but part of the fun is settling down an seeing thing from her perspective.

There are also parts of the book where Alexis lets her walls down, and it makes you so happy, but as quickly as they were down they're back up. At that point is where you lose hope for Brett and Alexis, but if you just keep your hope you won't be disappointed, or will you? You'll have to read to find out.

Overall this book is one of the best I've read in a while. I would definitely recommend this book/series to my friends.

Bittersweet Wreckage Review

Bittersweet Wreckage by Erin Richards

Her dad wasn't supposed to die.

He wasn't supposed to have a second family, and her mom wasn't supposed to slip into a prescription drug haze.

And she definitely wasn't supposed to kiss her new "half-brother."

Ivy Lynwood has spent her life under the oppressive thumb of her abusive father. When the impossible happens, and he's found dead in a boat fire, Ivy thinks her life may finally be turning around.

But her newfound freedom is short-lived; just as she and her mother start to move on, they learn that Ivy's father had a second family--whose mother also died in the boat fire.

Child Services asks Ivy's mother to take in the orphaned teenagers, and her life spirals even further out of control. Her mother disappears into a drugged la-la land, leaving Ivy to clean up the pieces... while clues of her mother's guilt in the fire stack up.

And for the first time, Ivy falls in love... with the son of her father's dead mistress. Even though Ivy and Jesse are unrelated, he's off limits when he moves in with the Lynwoods. Ivy knows she'll never have the normal family she dreamed of--but can she manage to turn the wreck of her life into any family at all?

First Thoughts

I was so excited to read this book, after I received it from the author, it sounded like a book I could get lost in. (In a good way) I thought it was going to be a book that I would feel like I was the main character, one I could cry with, one I could smile with, and one I could swoon with. However it didn't really turn out that way. This is my honest review of this book.

Review

So the book doesn't have the most interesting start, its just a bit of a back story, it is useful to know for the rest of the book though. The father, I feel like his character could be a bit more developed, or portrayed better. Other than that I loved the way Ivy and her mother's relationship was portrayed, and how Ivy explained, or commentated her mothers "drugged la-la land."

SPOILET ALERT: Now the other big problem I had was with Jesse, and Ivy's relationship. At some points it did feel really weird, I don't know if it was the way it was written, or what other characters had said, but it made me feel weird for reading it.

Overall I liked this book, I probably wouldn't read it again but that's just me. Before you read this book you should know there is one "intimate" scene that has some describing parts.

The Heartbreak Cure Review

The Heartbreak Cure by Amanda Ashby

How to get over a heartbreak:

Step one: Eat your body weight in brownies.

Step two: Throw yourself into your dreams of becoming a famous writer.

Step three: Beg your (hottie) ex-neighbour to act as your fake boyfriend.

Step four: Skip step three unless you’re ready for some serious fallout.

After being dumped and humiliated over the summer, Cat Turner does what any sane girl would do. She asks bad boy Alex Locke to be her fake boyfriend and show the world (and her editor at the school newspaper) that she's fine. Problem is, the more time she spends with Alex, the more she risks getting her heart broken. For real this time.

Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book contains a swoony bad boy who will melt your heart, brownies, and witty banter. One, two, or all three might prove addictive…

First Thoughts

I was looking for a new book to read, and my mom suggested I looked at the Entangled Teen Crush website. They have so many interesting books on there, and this one caught my eye. It's basically like all the other books I read, and the story is just the same, it's not one I'll remember in a couple of months. So here's my honest review of this book.

Review

So let's start with the writing style, it was actually written pretty well in making you believe/imagine you are the main character, and sometimes it had me just skimming through the page because it was full of useless information. The characters, they kind of annoyed me, with how they sometimes acted or what they sometimes said.

Now there could've been more swoon-worthy moments, and they could've been executed better, but that's just my opinion.
SPOILER ALERT: Is anyone gonna talk about the fact that they're "best friends" who don't even really talk, and then they get together. I mean come on that's gonna be so awkward when/if they break up.

Overall this book is well written, even though the characters do some annoying things it's a good read. But I wouldn't read it again.

All The Broken Pieces Review

All The Broken Pieces by Cindi Madsen

What if your life wasn’t your own?

Liv comes out of a coma with no memory of her past and two distinct, warring voices inside her head. Nothing, not even her reflection, seems familiar.

As she stumbles through her junior year, the voices get louder, insisting she pleases the popular group while simultaneously despising them.

But when Liv starts hanging around with Spencer, whose own mysterious past also has him on the fringe, life feels complete for the first time in, well, as long as she can remember.

Liv knows the details of the car accident that put her in the coma, but as the voices invade her dreams, and her dreams start feeling like memories, she and Spencer seek out answers.

Yet the deeper they dig, the fewer things make sense. Can Liv rebuild the pieces of her broken past, when it means questioning not just who she is, but what she is?

First Thoughts

When I first started reading this I was so confused, but as it continued I started to understand it more. This is the kind of book you have to take everything in with, for example, you have to analyze the cover of the book, you have to make assumptions while you read it, and you have to really think about what you already know and what you're learning. So here's my honest review of this book.

Review

This book starts off very slow, for about the first four chapters. This is because it's the same three characters, having the same arguments/problems. The book doesn't really start up until she gets to school, then you get to read about all the anxiety she goes through and the challenges.

And then after that, its the same fight between the two voices in her head. Not until Spencer comes along does the book start to get interesting, because then it's a different battle she's fighting, she's fighting with Spencer and his moods. Which at times can be annoying and funny.

Overall this book has some good attributes, the relationship Spencer and Liv develop is nice, and the relationship she tries to maintain with her parents. But this book is quite slow, the thing that kept me going was I HAD to figure out if I was right about the "mystery."
